About
We’re two people writing one blog.
More details? Nosy one, aren’t you?
Take one product manager (Melissa Tan) with an irregular capability for logical reasoning, add a trained software engineer (Ben Walsham aka Waldo) who only actually builds software on the side, and mix the ideas.
The outcome of all this is a fledging little company with two founders. Our goal: creating something we love… probably something food-related to start.
Melissa Tan
Currently living in London with 4 laptops, 1 desktop, 3 giant screens (with arms), a tablet, a Wii and intermittent couchsurfers.
Worked at a couple of large IT consulting firms, namely Accenture (of Arthur Andersen infamy) and BearingPoint (spun-off from KPMG) before seeing the light and joining a relatively small software development company (Signature Technologies). Became obsessed with making sure the right software is built, with the minimum amount of pain. Industry-wise, jumped ship and made the move away from telecommunications into the crazy world of online betting and gaming. Now spends too much time living, breathing and playing games on social networks, while calling it work. You can read more about the boring details.
Ben Walsham
Currently living in London in an over-brimming 2-bedroom flat containing 6 cats, 2 dogs, a horse, 11 goldfish, a sister-in-law, her partner and 5 children (whose kids are these?). Has a penchant for nonsense.
I have equally boring details too!
Another consultant – eep! I worked a short time in consulting at Oakton (a mid-sized Australian consultancy), did some pricing analysis of freight for Coles Myer (a major Australian retailer), before returning briefly to consulting with BearingPoint. Finally consulting independently (forming MeltingWaldo), as a stepping stone to living the dream of building something I care about.
