I’m not sure where I’d add a dealer token since that’d be per player and at the moment it only shows teams. But I’ll let it percolate for later.

You can delete games or the last (bottom) round by swiping left to right (or right to left) on the row of the game (or round) you didn’t win – a delete button should appear, tap it to delete forever.

have been using score 500 and absolutely love it has made our games so much easier and bragging so much easier. we play in the same teams once a month and its great to see those big green ticks.

Have just brought pro and have one problem how do i delete games like in score 500?

also a suggestion of adding a feature of keeping track of whose deal it is. as we are always joking and interruptions like kids we loose track some times. It would make it the best app ever if it good do that as well.

Hi Waldo,

I downloaded the app last night for my Ipad2 with IOS5 and am having the same crash issues already mentioned.

I will email you the .crash files.

In the interium, and tips that might get this working? I understand this is an iphone app ‘technically’ but i have not run into a compatibility issue before!!

Sorry to hear that. To help me fix it could you send in the crash report… once you’ve synced with iTunes your computer should have a .crash file in one of the following places:

Mac OS X: ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Apple Computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\

Windows Vista or 7: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\

The process is a good one. Makes you ask the right questions, face reality. The means rather than the ends.

Re: marketing. It’s what got me about Seth Godin. Make something so remarkable people can’t ignore you. You still have to get it out there, but if it’s good enough, people will share.

Re: pop viewpoint. The non-gimmicky fringe is the fringe because it’s pushing the boundaries, not being pushed. One thing you learn early on as a BA (and is attributed to Steve Jobs as so many pithy product quotes are now) is that you don’t ask what people want. You give them what they don’t know they want yet.

@mattis: I’m not sure I follow your situation. Is it if no-one bids then you play the hand as no-trumps and each team gets 10 points per trick (i.e. no winner or loser).

@t: Thanks, I’m not sure how many different phones I’ll be able to support at the moment it’s probably Web, then iPhone, then Android then if WP7 gets big enough…. you never know. The web version will hopefully be slick enough to tide you over (when it’s done that is).

I would download the second you finished… except I’m just about to move to windows phone 7.

Any chance you would release it for WP7 as well even though it has incredibly small numbers compared to iphone? WP7 is gaining momentum in Australia and this is where 500 is most popular!

another suggestion for the 500 Quebec: scores up to 1000, and the winner makes only the amount of points bidded, Ex: 8 NT , if the bidder makes 8 tricks or more, he gets 320 pts, if he does not make at least 8 tricks, the other team makes 320. If he gets only 8 bids, he still makes 320 points but the other team does not make any point. in Quebec, the winner of the turn (if the bidder makes at least the amount of tricks he bidded) make the point, but the losing team does not make any. Looks like in your game, the losing team makes some points according to the amount of tricks they made.

Hi, In Quebec, Canada, the 500 scores up to 1000 (Don’t ask me why, but the winner is the first to get to 1000). Could you make an update where we could score all the way to 1000. Maybe we could set the winning score at the beginning in settings or another app: 500 Quebec.

@tris: on the game list you can swipe to delete (or select edit) and delete each game.
At the moment there isn’t a reset all games option – if you really want to delete all the games you could remove and re-add the app.

Were all the men dressed atrociously too? When I went to JavaOne I was warned that if I wore a shirt I would be overdressed, and they weren’t joking. I think it’s a sign that men don’t even expect women to be at nerd conferences… if they did then maybe they would make more of an effort ?

do you think the more obvious reason could be that women are generally thought to like more colour, flair and pizzazz? and using this as an excuse men (unknowingly) have made that separation and have sort of dominated the world of software development / engineering / management It also works the other way round where more and more women distance their interest from the likes of ‘geeks’ only so that they can live up to the age old image of ‘colour, flair and pizzazz’

Great question. The ratios of men to women were definitely much higher than those typically seen in a software company.

Is it because of the roles of m0st of the attendees? (They were primarily developers, founders, entrepreneurs, and software executives.)

Is it because women in software are less likely to request that their company sends them to a conference (possibly related to the child-rearing stereotype, as most professional women also have families)?

Is it because more men than women follow Neil and Joel’s blogs? (Most attendees followed one or the other.)
